Our Actions at United Nations National Park

Thanks to the work made by Defensores de la Naturaleza the area is safe and can be visited by families, and business and school groups.

At Plaza Guatemala different theme areas can be visited making an imaginary trip through our history.  The main representations are Plaza Tikal with a replica made to scale of the Gran Jaguar and Templo III, the Plaza Antigua, Plaza Zaculeu, Plaza Palín with a Ceiba (Ceiba pentandra) and representations of rural houses of the interior of Guatemala.  The visit through the different Plazas is made through paths with signs and surrounded by replicas of Maya stelae of great cultural value.  These Plazas have two areas for social, cultural and educational events.

Outside Plaza Guatemala, following the signs of the paths, a series of viewpoints can be visited and Amatitlán lake and  Agua and Pacaya volcanoes can be seen, and some times the eruption of Pacaya volcano can be seen.

Recently new sport facilities have been restored and built, diversifying the services so that active persons or the ones that like extreme sports can practice Canopy, mountain biking, bicycle or horse rental.

The children can interact at Granja Crecer, working in crafts or visiting the Vivarium, a small natural museum with snakes, reptiles and arthropods.

Thirteen high rope circuits are offered which are especially designed to strengthen the team work and leadership, confidence and team support.  Also it offers an area for camping where the groups can stay for the night surrounded by nature.
